Judges will be Mrs. Natilie Steckman of Columbia, Mr. and Mrs. Billy Priester of Fairfax, Mrs. Rachel' Williamson of Denmark and Nick Nichols of Columbia.

Leaders of the pageant are: Elroy Myers, chairman-organist; Wayne Livingston, Betty Lane Gramling, advisor; Mrs. Wayne Livingston, pageant secretary-publicity co-ordinator; Julian C. Berry, staging director; Bob Fogle, budget and finance; Ralph Irick, program; and Bert Brickie, parade. at top right), has gained much publicity throughout the state. She will vie in the next Miss South Carolina Pageant.

Gramling, the former Betty Lane Cherry, showed what an Orangeburg girl could do several years ago when she went on to win the Miss America title. i The pageant will be preceded by many festivities. A parade is scheduled for 3:30 and a tea for the contestants and judges is slated at Berry's-on-the-Hill at 4 o'clock.

i Each contestant will compete in evening gown, swim suit and talent competition. Contestants will be scored by the rules and regulations set up by the official Miss America Pageant. Somefjthemost outstanding judges In South The sixth annual Miss Orangeburg Beauty Pageant will be staged at the Carolina Theatre Friday night starting at 8 o'clock. The pageant has grown Into quite a production and is considered one of the highlights of entertainment for young and old in tha Orangeburg area. The Miss Orangeburg Beauty Pageant is a preliminary for the Miss America Pageant and is being sponsored by the local Junior Chamber of Commerce.

Eleven of the Orangeburg area's most beautiful and talented girls shown on this page will vie for the title of Miss Orangeburg. The winner will represent Orangeburg in various festivals and pageants over the state. The local winner could go, on to represent the state in the Misa America finals at Atlantic City, N.Y.
