Miss Belcher is a 1988 graduate of Presbyterian College in Clinton, and a 1991 graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, N.J., with a master's of divinity degree. She is employed in' First Presbyterian Church Spartanburg as an associate pastor. Babb is a graduate Virginia Episcopal School and the University of South Carolina in Columbia. 19, at the Country Club of Orangeburg. Two daughters, a granddaughter and a niece were presented to members and guests. Greeting guests in the ballroom were Marion Felder Moore, president of the Thalian Club, and Mrs. Marion Felder Moore. Also welcoming guests were the mothers and sponsors of the debutantes.

Daughters presented were Eleanor Randolph Smoak, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Randolph Duncan Smoak escorted by Creg Garrison Bradley; and Mary Corinne Dixon, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Julian Spencer Dixon III, escorted by Andrew Hydrick Hunter.

The granddaughter presented was Susan Leigh Raney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Wesley Raney and granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Hugh Elmore Smith, escorted by Lance Cpl.

Jeffrey Scott Justice. The niece presented was Anne Jeannette Flintom, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Woods Flintom sponsored by Mr. and Mrs.

Alec Boyd McLeod, escorted by Edward Kennerly Turberville. The debutantes carried arm bouquets of long-stemmed American Beauty red roses clutched with a satin bow and streamers. They entered the ballroom through lighted, ivy topiary trees in handthrown Italian pottery raised on pedestals. Pots of paper white, greenery and white roses were used to highlight the remainder of the ballroom. Sons of Thalian members attending their first ball were Clifton Pridgen Davis, son of Mr.

Invited as guests of the Thalian Club were Stewart Smith Culler, Catherine Moorer Brunson and William Clarence Ziegler III, the debutante daughters and son of the 1993 Ball.

The traditional debutante figure, directed by Mrs. Jack Frank Johnson and Mrs. Keith Allen Hewitt, was led by Eleanor Randolph Smoak, followed by other debutantes and sons. At the conclusion of the figure, general dancing began. Later in the evening, a buffet dinner was served.

Anne Meree Morehead, daughter of the Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Eugene Morehead III, is a sophomore at Wofford College in Spartanburg.

She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Eugene Morehead Jr. of Florence and Mrs. Benjamin Franklin Dempsey Sr.

of Orangeburg and the late Mr. Dempsey. Her escorts were her brother, Arthur Eugene Morehead IV, a second-year student at the University of South Carolina School of Law, and Theodore John McGee Jr. of Atlanta, a junior at Wofford College. The Tarantella honored two sons of members who attended the ball for the first time: Michael Alexander Chase, son of Mrs.
